Katherine N. Baum

Western Regional Representative - Client Service Team

Katherine N. Baum joined Muhlenkamp & Company in September 2007.  Her primary responsibilities include developing, strengthening, and maintaining relationships with prospective and current shareholders, as well as financial advisers.


Mrs. Baum has been employed in the financial services industry since 1992.  She worked in the mutual fund marketing department of a regional broker/dealer in Michigan for several years.  After relocating back to Pennsylvania in 1997, she worked several years part-time in the financial services industry.   


Katherine N. Baum received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business and Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1986.  She maintains Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations and is currently working toward the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

Stephen Bierker

Trader - Investment Team

Stephen Bierker joined Muhlenkamp & Company in June of 2005 as a Client Service Representative and was appointed Securities Trader in October 2007. His responsibilities include trading activities related to the Company’s privately managed accounts and no-load mutual fund.


Mr. Bierker has an extensive background in corporate finance. He began his career at the May Department Stores Company, where he held positions of increasing responsibility focused primarily on planning and profit -enhancing initiatives. His final position as Director of Profit Improvement enabled him to work with the senior management team to identify and prioritize process design changes and capital budgeting. Mr. Bierker also worked with The Meridian Group which focuses primarily on turnaround consulting for companies in financial distress.


Stephen Bierker received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 where he completed two Signature programs, the first in Corporate Finance/Valuation and the second in International Economics. His undergraduate studies were completed in 1989 at Penn State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Additionally, he holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and maintains Series 7 and 66 securities registrations.

Adrienne G. Caracciolo

Senior Operations Specialist - Administrative & Marketing Team

Adrienne G. Caracciolo joined Muhlenkamp & Company in August 2000.  Her responsibilities include internal compliance reporting, managed account quarterly reporting, trade error resolution, and composite record maintenance.  She also serves as an operations liaison between Muhlenkamp & Company and the broker/adviser community.


Mrs. Caracciolo gained financial services experience while working in the trust department of Mellon Financial where she specialized in account reconciliation. 


Adrienne G. Caracciolo received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Clarion University in 2000.  She maintains Series 6 and 63 securities registrations.

Richard P. Dean

Operations and Trading Manager - Investment Team

Richard P. Dean joined Muhlenkamp & Company in 2001 as the Securities Trader. In 2004, he also took on the role of Database Administrator, developing and maintaining client and other internal databases. His other responsibilities include maintaining the trading and portfolio accounting systems; managing the VOIP phone system; assisting with network administration; and handling internal help-desk issues. In 2007, Mr. Dean moved from primary trader to backup trader to enable him to focus primarily on technology projects.


Mr. Dean gained experience in trading as well as portfolio management systems with Laurel Capital Advisors (a unit of the former Mellon Financial), and the Pittsburgh institutional office of Merrill Lynch.


Richard P. Dean received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Grove City College, which included a term abroad at New College, Oxford University studying Economics and International Finance. He is certified by Interactive Intelligence to support their VOIP system. He also maintains Series 7 and 66 securities registrations.

Kenneth J. Dupre

Investment Analyst - Investment Team

Kenneth J. Dupre joined Muhlenkamp & Company in January 1998. His responsibilities are primarily research oriented, including reviewing research reports and company financials; interviewing and visiting company management; investigating competitors and the general industry; and making portfolio recommendations, including the use of options.


Mr. Dupre also serves as Managing Partner of Chalk L Partnership, an investment partnership, located in Champion, PA. Since October 1997, Mr. Dupre has served on the Board of Directors of Decamedics Inc., a medical start-up company.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for Applied Concepts Inc., a start-up hand tool company that was bought by Emerson Electric in 1994.  Mr. Dupre formerly worked as an account executive for PhysicianCare, a group health company located in Charlotte, NC.


Kenneth J. Dupre received a dual Bachelor of Science in Economics and Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University in 1989, and a Masters in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon in 1996.  Mr. Dupre also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and teaches Finance as an adjunct professor at St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, PA.

Susen M. Friday

Western Regional Manager - Client Service Team

Susen M. Friday joined Muhlenkamp & Company in April 2002 as a Client Service Representative. Fluent in the Muhlenkamp investment philosophy, Ms. Friday answers questions about investment objectives and processes.  Additionally, her expertise resides in the area of retirement planning.


Prior to joining Muhlenkamp & Company, Ms. Friday was employed as a defined contribution retirement plan administrator by a local third-party administrator (TPA) and Federated Investors Retirement Plan Services.  In the 1970s, she worked as a research assistant for the Economic Research Department of Equibank N.A.  In the 1980s, she took off time to raise a family and become involved in community affairs.


Susen M. Friday has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Point Park University.  She holds Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations, as well as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation from the Center of Fiduciary Studies.

James S. Head

Executive Vice President - Administrative & Marketing Team

James S. Head oversees the business management operations of Muhlenkamp & Company, Inc.  He is also responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the company’s long-range strategic business plans.


Mr. Head began his career in the investment industry in 1971 with Parker/Hunter, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based regional brokerage firm.  During his tenure there, he served in the capacities of Internal Auditor, Controller, Branch Manager and Executive Vice-President / Branch Administration for many years.  Mr. Head later moved to Dean Witter Discover & Company where he managed branch offices in Pittsburgh, State College, and Erie, PA from 1984 to 1995.  Mr. Head returned to Parker/Hunter, Inc., in 1995 to manage the Monroeville office, and remained there until joining Muhlenkamp & Company, Inc. in 1999.  Through the years, Mr. Head has developed an extensive background in administration, compliance, recruiting, training and strategic planning in the investment business.  He has also served as a member of the NASD District 11 Committee for several years.


James S. Head received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Marquette University in 1967.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1967 until 1971 as a Services Squadron Commander, before entering the investment business later that year.

Lorraine M. Hoolahan

Midwest Regional Representative - Client Service Team

Lorraine M. Hoolahan joined Muhlenkamp & Company in September 2007.  Her main responsibility is to interact with shareholders, discussing investment objectives and providing written materials and information as requested.


Since 1993, Ms. Hoolahan has been working in various aspects of the financial industry, beginning with eight years in the mortgage industry at ESB Bank and PNC Mortgage, followed by five years in the Defined Contribution Department of Federated Investors.


Lorraine M. Hoolahan has an Associate degree in Business, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Geneva College.  She maintains Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations.  Ms. Hoolahan grew up about a mile from our Wexford office, raised her three children here, and continues to live in the area.

Jack Kunkle

Investment Analyst and Chief Technology Officer - Investment Team

Jack Kunkle joined Muhlenkamp & Company in February 1992 as a Research Analyst.  Since joining the firm, he has concentrated on locating good companies that sell at a discount to their intrinsic value.  He also oversees the daily operations of Muhlenkamp & Company’s information management systems.  His long-standing interest in computer applications couples well with the practice of financial analysis primarily in the technology sector.


Mr. Kunkle began his career at Dollar Bank in Pittsburgh, PA.  As a branch manager he counseled personal and business clients on a wide spectrum of banking products and services ranging from mortgages to business loans.


Jack Kunkle received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Denison University in 1985.  He received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 where he studied techniques of evaluating corporations and the practice of portfolio management.

Jean A. Leister

Executive Assistant - Administrative & Marketing Team

Jean A. Leister manages the administrative functions of Muhlenkamp & Company and also serves as Secretary to the Company’s self-named mutual fund.  Since joining Muhlenkamp & Company in March 1986, Mrs. Leister’s duties have grown considerably.  Presently, she is involved in managing the Company’s general ledger and financial records, payroll and employee benefits, and reporting and regulatory requirements.


Mrs. Leister began her career in the insurance industry, working with Body-Borneman Insurance Company as an Administrative Assistant.  She also worked in secretarial positions at The Pennsylvania State University in the College of Agriculture and in the office of the Dean of Resident Education. 


Jean A. Leister graduated with Honors from Boyertown Area Senior High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and also received the Order of Gregg Shorthand Writers Award.  She maintains Series 6 and 63 securities registrations.

Monica Leister

E-Communications Manager - Administrative & Marketing Team

Monica Leister joined Muhlenkamp & Company in April 1994.  When she first started with the Company, she worked primarily as a Client Service Representative.  She is now responsible for e-mail communications, along with providing support for electronic communication during company webcasts.  Ms. Leister also furnishes internal data reporting.     


Ms. Leister has spent her entire professional career with Muhlenkamp & Company. 


Monica Leister graduated from The Pennsylvania State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Speech Communications and Political Science.  She maintains Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations.

Linda S. Lukitsch

Department Manager - Client Service Team

Linda S. Lukitsch joined Muhlenkamp & Company in February 2002.  Her primary responsibilities include maintaining relationships with clients and shareholders nationwide, along with processing and tracking new account openings and transfers. 


Ms. Lukitsch acquired a background in financial services while employed at Allegheny Investments and Hefren-Tillotson, both Pittsburgh-based firms.


Linda S. Lukitsch attended Robert Morris College and maintains Series 6 and 63 securities registrations.

Anthony W. Muhlenkamp

Executive Vice President - Client Service Team

Anthony W. Muhlenkamp joined the family business in August 1992.  He leads our Client Service Department, conducts seminars on investment topics throughout the country, and consults with clients on financial and estate planning issues.


Mr. Muhlenkamp worked as a software consultant and served four years as a United States Marine prior to joining Muhlenkamp & Company, Inc.


Anthony W. Muhlenkamp received his Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA and maintains Series 6, 63, 26, and 65 securities registrations.

Jeffrey P. Muhlenkamp

Investment Analyst - Investment Team

Jeffrey P. Muhlenkamp joined Muhlenkamp and Company as an Investment Analyst in 2008.  His responsibilities are primarily research oriented, including reviewing research reports and company financials; interviewing and visiting company management; investigating competitors and the general industry; and making portfolio recommendations.


Mr. Muhlenkamp served in the United States Army for twenty years, retiring in 2008 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.


Jeffrey P. Muhlenkamp received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the United States Military Academy in 1988, and a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University in 1999.

Ronald H. Muhlenkamp

Founder, President, and Portfolio Manager - Investment Team

Ronald H. Muhlenkamp is founder and president of Muhlenkamp & Company, Inc., established in 1977 to manage private accounts for individuals and institutions. In 1988, Muhlenkamp & Company launched a no-load mutual fund as an investment vehicle for all investors, large or small.


An award-winning investment manager, frequent guest of the media, and featured speaker at investment shows nationwide, Mr. Muhlenkamp’s entire business career has been devoted to the professional management of investment portfolios. His work since 1968 has been focused on extensive studies of investment management philosophies, both fundamental and technical. As a result of this research, he developed a proprietary method of evaluating both equity and fixed income securities, which continues to be employed by Muhlenkamp & Company. In addition to publishing his quarterly newsletter, Muhlenkamp Memorandum, Mr. Muhlenkamp is the author of Ron’s Road to Wealth: Insights for the Curious Investor.


Mr. Muhlenkamp received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from M.I.T. in 1966, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School in 1968. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He and his wife, Connie, make their home on a farm near Pittsburgh, but travel extensively to meet and talk with companies and clients around the country.


The majority of Mr. Muhlenkamp’s long-term investment assets are invested in the Company’s self-named mutual fund.

Lisa Muhlenkamp-Cox

Southeast Regional Manager - Client Service Team

Lisa Muhlenkamp-Cox joined Muhlenkamp & Company in August 1998 and opened the regional office in Atlanta, GA. As a member of the Client Service Team, she works closely with private clients and shareholders.  Her primary responsibilities include acquiring and retaining private clients and shareholders in the southeastern region of the United States.


As a fifteen-year plus shareholder in her father’s no-load mutual fund, Lisa shares her knowledge of the Muhlenkamp investment philosophy with her clients. She believes that an informed client/shareholder is more likely to invest long term with Muhlenkamp & Company.  Mrs. Muhlenkamp-Cox formerly worked as a national account manager at a marketing merchandising firm in Atlanta.


Lisa Muhlenkamp-Cox earned a Bachelor of Science from Emory University in 1991 and maintains Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations.  Lisa, her husband, Paul, and their children Henry and Patricia reside in Atlanta, GA.

Tammy S. Neff

Investment Analyst - Investment Team

Tammy S. Neff joined Muhlenkamp & Company in September 2003 as an Investment Analyst.  Ms. Neff’s responsibilities are primarily research oriented, including evaluating company financial statements, annual reports, and proxy statements; analyzing industry and company research reports; interviewing and visiting company management teams; and making investment recommendations for inclusion in the Muhlenkamp portfolios.


Ms. Neff has fourteen years of experience in the healthcare industry as a Psychiatric Nurse Clinician and Healthcare Administrator.  Before joining Muhlenkamp & Company, she served as Director of Operations for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry Faculty Practice Plan.


Tammy S. Neff received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Carlow College in 1989.  She earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994.  She holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and maintains Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations.

Michelle Orphall

Marketing Specialist - Administrative & Marketing Team

Michelle Baker Orphall joined Muhlenkamp & Company in October 1997.  Her current responsibilities include editing print and web material; implementation of the company webcasts; creation and maintenance of forms and applications; and assistance in website design and maintenance.


Mrs. Orphall gained experience in the financial services industry while working at Chase Mellon Shareholder Services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She worked in the areas of Client Services and Dividend Reinvestment.


Michelle Baker Orphall received a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Dayton in 1993.

Brian L. Yates

Midwest Regional Manager - Client Service Team

Brian L. Yates joined Muhlenkamp & Company in February 2005. Understanding that communication is fundamental to a successful client / adviser engagement, he maintains relationships with individual and institutional private clients and shareholders by seeking to help them discover and achieve their financial goals. He also serves as a resource and representative to financial professionals who utilize Muhlenkamp & Company services for their clients. Additionally, he conducts educational seminars for adults and students in local area schools. Mr. Yates has spent his entire professional career in the investment industry. Prior to joining Muhlenkamp & Company, Mr. Yates managed a multi-million dollar equity portfolio for Schonfeld Securities. In this capacity, he developed and executed several investment strategies utilizing technical, fundamental, and proprietary analysis. Brian L. Yates received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1995. He is a Certified Financial Planner professional, maintains Series 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations, and is a member of the Pittsburgh Stock and Bond Association.

Celeste D. Zingarelli

Director of Marketing - Administrative & Marketing Team

Celeste Zingarelli joined Muhlenkamp & Company in September 2001.  She is charged with promoting the Company’s investment expertise and personalized service, along with developing educational tools and materials.


Before joining Muhlenkamp & Company, Ms. Zingarelli worked as a consultant to Carnegie Mellon University, designing and facilitating custom executive education programs for Fortune 500 companies.  She began her career at Mellon Bank in 1980, retiring from the banking industry as a vice president with Fiserv in 1995.


Celeste Zingarelli received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979 and completed the Program for Executives at Carnegie Mellon University in 1995.  She maintains Series 6 and 63 securities registrations.
